Tragedy Strikes as Footballer Sinamandla Zondi Dies After Collapsing During Warm-Up

The football community is in mourning following the sudden death of 22-year-old defender Sinamandla Zondi, who collapsed during a pre-match warm-up and later passed away.
Zondi, a rising star with South Africa’s second-tier club Durban City FC, was preparing for a fixture against Milford FC on Tuesday when he unexpectedly collapsed on the pitch. Despite being rushed to hospital, medical teams were unable to revive him, and his death was later confirmed.
The match, which had kicked off as planned, was abandoned at halftime after both teams were informed of the heartbreaking news.
In a moving tribute, Durban City FC honored the young player’s memory:
